* OMG! Best Race of the Season!
* Kevin Schwantz!
* Nicky Hayden!
* Liam Shubert!
* Chat with Jules!
* Other stuff!
WOW! What a race, and it was so cool to be there. We've got a super big show today, very long but still only just barely touching on some of the things that I want to talk about with this race. After a race like that, I think we all need a break so it's just as well we have a few weeks until Brno. In this week's show, Jules and I do a rather long (shocking!) wrapup of some of the race highlights and general chitchat. Before we get to that, we've got some interviews that Jules and I recorded at Laguna Seca, including Kevin Schwantz, Nicky Hayden (not me interviewing him, but very interesting) and Liam Shubert! Some other good stuff, including a semi-drunken rant by yours truly. Download and take a listen!

Laguna seca race of the season (so far)
Hi Bob & Jules,
I've just finished listening to the podcast. Great work by you guys - I’ve really enjoyed the 2 hours (!) of the podcast, your enthusiasm for the sport / spectacle makes it easy to listen to. I'm very envious that you got along to the race, it sounds like an awesome experience, and turns out to be the best race we've seen for years - hell it was exciting to see such close and hard racing between Rossi and Stoner.
I've watched the race twice now and really think that it was just that, Stoner put some pretty hard passes on Rossi too, cutting his line and leaving him no option but to sit up or brake. Rossi’s moves were certainly more spectacular, the trip across the gravel at the corkscrew and pass around the outside into turn 4 take your breath away!
In the end I think Rossi set out to frustrate Stoner, and got the result he wanted - Stoner lost his temper and put himself in the gravel trap. It shows the skill of Rossi that he could achieve that on a slower bike (as you can tell I'm a big Rossi fan). Also amazing to see what a beast the Ducati is, when you see it so close to the Yamaha. Stoner does an amazing job to stop the thing throwing him off, and go faster than just about anyone in the process.
Its going to be interesting to see how Stoner responds, the best outcome would be - if he pulls his old 250cc leathers on and gives us some close (and fair) racing with Rossi (and Pedrosa, and Lorenzo) through the rest of the year. A less likely option is that he'll 'pack a sad' and give up early if he can't pull a gap on the pack; a worrying possibility is that he'll start pulling unsafe moves to stop Vale (and anyone else) getting past him.
As you guys know, Stoner should be a massive hero but manages to come across as a bit of a sulky bugger. So while I hope for the first outcome, I fear that the latter will be Stoners way of ‘teaching the Doctor a lesson’.
The only thing for sure is that it's going to be exciting watching to see how the rest of the season develops, and following you're analysis and comment on MotoGPod.
"It's going to be the best season -ever"

Thanks Jim! Appreciate it.
Thanks Jim! Appreciate it. And I think you put it very succinctly with "sulky bugger." That describes him to a "T" in my book. Fantastic motorcycle rider though, I really have to hand it to him. I can't wait for Brno.
"This is racing"
"OK, we'll see."
I really am looking forward to seeing what we're going to see! =)
