Great show today following a great MotoGP weekend at Misano! First off, Jim Race talks with Eugene Laverty, the Northern Irish 250cc racer who is filling in for Fabian Foret in World Supersport, about all sorts of great stuff! After that, Bob and Jules chat about the Misano race which was another eye opener, and even talk a bit about the 250cc championship which simply doesn't get enough attention. Good stuff, download it and take a listen!

The Men in Black use Sandbags
Sorry for the repost forgot to login.
File this one under The Men in Black use sandbags. What if Michelin was sandbagging in an effort to force a single manufacturer rule. Something we do know is that the riders have been unhappy with the choices that Michelin has been making. No one with a clue can make sense of their choices. All the three top riders are on Bridgestones. I think that was the first step in Michelin's diabolical little plan. Now that the top guys are all on the same tire and Michelin is doing so poorly why not give all the riders tires from the clear choice Bridgestone. After all they appear to be so superior to Michelin. If you can convince the viewing public that Bridgestone for what ever reason is the deciding factor they would want all the riders to have them if not only as an issue of fairness to their favorite.
We all got a surprise when Valentino made the switch in the beginning of the season. If memory serves didn't Bridgestone rase and issue about supplying tires to other riders? I remember there being concerns that they may not have the resources to support more riders. Then the issue of a single manufacturer rule started to be bantyed about and low and be hold Valentino got Bridgestones.
For there to be a conspiracy there needs to be a second party. That is where Dorna and/or the FIM come in to play. Let's say there was some kind of gentlemen's agreement that was struck between Michelin and a sanctioning body that guarantee that they would be the choice if a single manufacturer were to be chosen. Michelin's job now is to get all the riders to want a single tire manufacturer. Well, guess what all the riders want the same tire. Once you get the riders on board the fans are a lock. So you got the fans and the riders let's put a little icing on this cake. You get a major manufacture like Honda to switch at the end of the season. Now you have a cake as sweet as mama use to make and everybody wants a piece.

Just a thought.
